History of the Scout Car Show and Gala.

After the Sheffield Scouts Christmas Postal Service stopped operating in 2001, Greenhill's Group Scout Leader started to look around for some other scheme to raise the awareness of Scouting with the general public and at the same time earn some much needed funds. Since he had a long interest in Classic cars (and owned two) a Classic Car Show seemed to be the answer.

In 2002 Greenhill Scout Group and Just Classics Car Club joined forces and put on a Classic Car Show in a local Public House car park. The show was a great success and instantly outgrew the available space.
In the following years, Bradway Scouts and Woodseats Venture Scout Unit (now renamed Woodseats Scout Unit) joined the organisation and the show moved to its present location of Bradway Scout Centre in the grounds of Sir Harold Jackson School.

In 2005, a marked out arena was added where Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from Greenhill and Bradway Scout Groups could demonstrate Scouting skills and compete in competitive events. By 2007, the event had grown in strength and was expanded to include any other Scout Group in Sheffield Sheaf District who wanted to join us.

Today, the event continues to thrive with action-packed arena events, an ever-increasing number of side shows, an attractive food-court and a record number of interesting vehicles and exhibits on display.
